Shining The Light of Jesus at Emily’s Place

Thanks to your faithful stewardship of your time, talent, and treasure, Lighthouse has been able to bless the children at Emily’s Place during this difficult time.

Here’s what Brynn, the Executive Director, shared along with the picture: “The children love reading along with the recordings and now pick up books without prompting. They pretend to ‘record’ themselves reading:) It warms our hearts to see them develop a love for learning.”

Rescuing Leftover Cuisine

Help Our Community Reduce Food Waste While Feeding the Hungry

Did you know 40% of food is thrown away, and 1 in 7 Americans are food insecure? We’re partnering with Rescue Leftover Cuisine to make sure food can reach those who need it most, such as homeless shelters and food banks. Sign up to be a driver! Delivering from the restaurant to the recipient only takes 10-15 minutes per week, and each trip will help feed 40-50 meals. If you are interested, please contact Mickey (themlperson@gmail.com) for more details.

Important Decision and Direction for the Remainder of 2020 at Lighthouse

As shared during service last weekend, Lighthouse leadership has decided to continue to gather virtually during the remainder of 2020. This decision was reached prayerfully and thoughtfully by our leadership with our Christ-given mission to reach the unreached & to equip God’s people for God’s great work in the world at the center rather than our convenience or preferences. We, therefore, ask for both your prayer and your partnership as we continue to seek ways to leverage this unique season and unprecedented opportunities to develop tools and ways for us to further our reach and our effectiveness in fulfilling our mission which is: Glorify God by helping all people become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Exciting Opportunity to Bless Children & Families at Emily’s Place

We will be doing virtual book recordings for Emily’s Place (children ages 1-10). Grab one of your cherished childhood books - Curious George, Frog and Toad, Dr Seuss - and record yourself reading! We will send these videos to Emily’s Place so the mothers and children can enjoy and follow along on their own time. If you are interested, please contact Mickey (themlperson@gmail.com) for more details.

Serving Our Neighbors in Our City

We are excited to share concrete opportunities to serve with our 3 local partners, Emily’s Place, Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, and The Network of Community Ministries. This is based on our collective conviction that we, as God’s church, can and should do better in serving those most in need or vulnerable. Caring For Elliot

Church, thank you so much for your prayers and support for Elliot! Thanks to your prayers and God’s grace, Elliot’s chemo has been very effective (70% reduction in the size of his brain tumor). Let’s continue to pray for full restoration and healing! You can read an update on Elliot via gofundme HERE.

Join Community Groups

At Lighthouse, we gather as a big church on Sundays for corporate worship and scatter into smaller churches known as Community Groups to stir one another's affection and devotion to Jesus in an authentic, biblical, Christ-centered community. Much has changed due to Covid-19 pandemic, but neither God nor our commitment to be God's church has changed. Please contact Pastor KJ (kj.ahn@lighthousedfw.org) if you have questions or want to check out one of our groups.
