Our Beliefs

Our Beliefs

The Scriptures

We believe that the Bible is the written, inerrant, infallible Word of God which has the ultimate authority in all matters pertaining to faith and life.

2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21

The Triune God

We believe that there is one true, infinite, almighty God who eternally exists in three Persons in perfect unity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Genesis 1:26; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:18-20; John 1:1-5; John 10:30; 2 Corinthians 13:14

God the Father

We believe that God the Father is the Creator and Sustainer of heaven and earth.

Ephesians 4:6; Isaiah 64:8; James 1:17; 1 John 3:1

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, both fully God and fully human, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life of perfect obedience to God the Father, died the substitutionary death on the cross to pay for our sin, was bodily raised from death, ascended into heaven to reign for eternity at the right hand of God the Father.

John 1:14; Philippians 2:7; Colossians 2:9; Hebrews 4:15; John 1:1; John 20:28; Romans 8:3; Hebrews 2:17; Acts 2:24; Isaiah 9:6; 1 Timothy 3:16; John 3:16; Revelation 1:8

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God who enables believers to live a godly living. The various gifts of the Holy Spirit are given today as in the New Testament time and are to be sought for the purpose of building up the body of Christ.

Acts 1:4-8; John 14:25-26; John 16:7-15; Ezekiel 36:26-28; Acts 2:1-4; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18; Romans 8:26-27; Galatians 5:16-25

Humanity

We believe that triune God—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit--created humanity in God’s own image for a loving relationship and a joyful partnership with God. However, humanity rebelled against God and invited sin into the world and thus deserves God’s wrath.

Genesis 1:26-27; Gensis 1:28; Gensis 3:1-19; Romans 3:10-18

Salvation

We believe that people can only be saved by God’s grace alone and only through faith in the person and the work of Jesus Christ alone.

John 3:16; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9

The Church

We believe that through Christ, we are adopted into the family of God and adopt new identity as siblings in Christ with God as our Father and Christ as the head of the church. Within the covenant community of the church, God’s grace is extended through the preaching of the Word, the administration of Sacraments (Baptism and Communion), and the faithful practice of mutual discipline. The church must witness Jesus Christ and the good news of Jesus Christ both in and to the world.

1 Corinthians 12:12-13, 27; Acts 20:28; Matthew 16:18; Ephesians 4:1-16

The Resurrection

We believe that there will be bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost. The saved will be raised to live eternal life with God while the lost will be raised to live eternal life separated from God.

1 Corinthians 15:3-7,12-23; Romans 8:11; Hebrews 9:27

The Second Coming of Christ

We believe that Christ will return to judge the just and the unjust, establish Christ’s kingdom in the new heavens and the new earth. In the Consummation, Satan with his hots and all those who did not believe in Jesus Christ are finally removed from the presence of God, enduring eternal separation from God while those who put their faith in Jesus Christ, the righteous, in glorious bodies, shall live and reign with Christ forever. Married to Christ as his Bride, the Church will be in the presence of God forever, serving him and giving him unending praise and glory. Then shall the eager expectation of creation be fulfilled and the whole earth shall proclaim the glory of God who makes all things new.

Matthew 24:36-44; John 5:28-29; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3; John 14:1-3
